7) Provision of legal services

Retrenched workers have had their rights violated as to regards to rights to compensation and benefits. It becomes very difficult for a Laid-Off workers to effectively follow up his/her denied benefits. Most have left their benefits behind since them alack the necessary capacity to approach the defiant employer and even seek for court litigations process even when they have good case.

This department provides the necessary advice and guidance, prepare court cases and file for the retrenched workers. Our lawyers could also seek to be enjoined a friends of the court in some instances.  We are working with other legal volunteer minds to ensure members receive justice.

The coffee board workers cases have dragged on in court since 2003 to date. Many have died and have lost interest since they are unable move around due to financial difficulties.  This department is calling for partnerships to provide financial resources to make things move and deliver justice.
